Estrellas 9 , Aguilas 0:  Daniel Cabrera (6 IP) and Denny Bautista combine on the shutout, while Joel Guzman (HR 4RBI), Henry Mateo (3-4 HR 3R 2RBI) & Michael Martinez (4 hits) led a 15-hit assault.

December 30

Licey 12, Estrellas 1:  Seven-run bottom of the 3rd removes the suspense early as every Licey starter hits safely (led by Jose Guillen 3-4 2RBI) and Harold Eckert (5IP 7K) records the bulk of 12 strikeouts by Licey hurlers.

Aguilas 5, Gigantes 4:  Errors by a pair of Gigantes third-basemen (Caonabo Cosme & Juan Francisco) lead two a pair of unearned runs in a tight game that was tied at 2 entering the 7th inning.

January 2

Estrellas 9, Gigantes 3:  The Estrellas explode for 9 runs in the top of the sixth against 7 Gigantes pitchers, just in time to win a weather-shortened, 6-inning affair.

January 4

Gigantes 5, Aguilas 4:  After building a 5-0 lead against Julian Tavarez in the first 3 innings, Gigantes saved at the end by closer Dario Veras’ 3 strikeouts in the bottom of the ninth after 4 errors helped the Aguilas chip away at their lead.

Estrellas 3, Licey 2:  After a wild Daniel Cabrera put them in a 2-0 hole, the Estrellas get 6 1/3 innings of 1-hit relief from 3 pitchers and win the game with 3 in the bottom of the 9th against Licey closer Oneli Perez.

January 6

Aguilas 5, Licey 2:  Eric Knott earned the win, but the Aguilas’ big heroes were Victor Diaz (2B HR 2RBI) & a 6-man relief crew that surrendered 2 hits over 4 scoreless innings.

Estrellas 8, Aguilas 2:  The Estrellas’ 7-run bottom of the third against Rob Tejeda & Alay Soler put this one away early, as Francisco Rosario (8K 5IP) and 2 relievers struck out 13 Aguilas.

January 9

Gigantes 4, Estrellas 3:  Shaky defense (3 total errors) cost the Estrellas a 3-0 8th inning lead at home, eventually leading to a loss in the 10th inning, wasting a fine effort by Vladimir Nunez.  Juan Francisco (3-4 2RBI) was the hitting star for the Gigantes.

January 10

Aguilas 5, Gigantes 4:  After trailing 3-0 early, and 4-2 entering the bottom of the 9th, the Aguilas win in dramatic fashion when Mendy Lopez hammers a walk off 3-run homer off Gigantes closer Dario Veras.

Licey 13, Estrellas 5:  Home runs by Emilio Bonifacio (3-5 3r 3rbi) & Jose Offerman (3-4 2r 4rbi) helped the Tigres get rolling in support of Jose Mercedes, who hurled 5 innings of 2-hit ball to win for the second time in the semi-finals (1.13 ERA).

January 11

Aguilas 6, Licey 2:  Derek Lee hurled 6 strong innings to improve to 2-1, 2.04 in the semif-final round, and Victor Diaz drove in 3 runs for the Aguilas with a single and a double.

January 12

Licey 3, Estrellas 2:  The Estrellas fell behind early when a wild Daniel Cabrera couldn’t get out of the 2nd inning, but the game was deadlocked 2-2 by the middle of the fifth.   It stayed that way until the bottom of the 9th, when Denny Bautista lost for the second consecutive day on a single, a stolen base and a two-out hit by Emilio Bonifacio.

Aguilas 3, Gigantes 0:  Eric Knott earned his second victory of the round-robin by hurling the first 6 1/3 innings, as the Gigantes managed just five singles in getting shut out for the third time in the semi-finals.

January 13

Aguilas 9, Estrellas 3:  A 7-run fifth inning lifted the Aguilas at home, behind 7 strong innings from Nelson Figueroa.  Miguel Tejada went 3-5 with a homer and 4 RBI.

Licey 4, Gigantes 3:  After Licey jumped out to an early lead, the Gigantes evened things up in the 6th, and the game remained 3-3 into the final inning.  Alejandro Rios broke the deadlock with a leadoff homer to left off Joel Peralta, and Oneli Perez earned his 3rd save of the semi-finals by inducing a game-ending double play grounder off the bat of Kendry Morales.

Gigantes 3, Aguilas 2:  After blowing a 1-run lead in the 8th inning, the Gigantes started a rally with two outs and nobody on in the bottom of the 9th against three pitchers to prevail.  Agustin Septimo’s double brought home Jose Campusano –whose single started the uprising- with the game-winner.

January 15

Licey 7, Gigantes 0:  Four Licey pitchers combined to strike out 12 and hold the Gigantes to just three singles.  Anderson Hernandez (3-5 2rbi r) & Emilio Bonifacio (2-4 3b 2r bb) were the hitting heroes.

Aguilas 7, Estrellas 6:  The Estrellas out-hit the Aguilas 17-10 in a sloppy game, but 9 walks and a pair of costly errors leading to 3 unearned runs proved to be their undoing.  Rafael Furcal (4-4 3rbi 2sb bb) led the victors’ offense, while Willis Otanez went 4-5 for the losers.
